who mariann budde is

Mariann Edgar Budde is an American Episcopal prelate who has served as Bishop of Washington since 2011. She is the first woman elected to the position of bishop in the diocese, although Bishop Jane Holmes Dixon was elected as suffragan bishop in the diocese in 1992 and served as Bishop Pro Tempore after Bishop Haines retired and before Bishop Chane -- Bishop Budde's predecessor -- was elected.
